ABOUT ART

Arthur Kagan is one of the most qualified and experienced actuaries and pension plan consultants in the retirement plan industry.  In his 40+ year career he has helped thousands of plan sponsors, of all size companies, with the management of their retirement plans and plan designs.

For the past 26 years Art had his own Third Party Administration (TPA) firm, The Kagan Company.   The firm served 650 retirement plans, employed 4 actuaries and 7 plan administrators, and had two offices.  Art sold his firm in 2016 and is no longer in the TPA business or furnishes TPA services.  Art is excited about his current venture, A|K Actuarial and Pension Services, whose primary focus is to provide advisory and expert witness services to attorneys on actuarial, pension plans, ERISA, executive plans, divorce, estate values and personal injury issues.  His new firm also provides advisory services to Retirement Boards.

Art's experience ranges from actuarial, creative plan design, plan documents, employee communications, plan funding, actuarial assumptions, plan administration, plan termination, plan tax filing, retirement plan studies, pension law compliance, cash balance pension, defined benefit pension, 401(K), profit sharing and combined plans, ESOPs, life insurance in qualified plans, annuities, executive benefits, audits and QDROs.

Art has authored various articles in pension industry publications and has spoken to various groups on pension plan topics.  He also advises Retirement Plan Committees & Boards on Pension issues.
